Hello.
I am not going to make a long intro to this, so here is the thing:
I like arcade games from the late 80s to late 90s. I am going to come on here and talk about a game. Maybe, what I like and don't like? Maybe I will just say "it's a game worth checking out!" Or "this game is no good." Just...something.
GAME: 1942 CAPCOM

YEAR RELEASED: 1984/5 I have seen both dates.
TYPE: Vertically Scrolling Shooter
WHAT I THINK:
Well, 1942 is one of those games that you can revisit again and again...if you want to mash buttons, and then get easily bored with it. It is no 1943. The early 80s were not the greatest time for videogames, in my opinion. Everything is just so clunky and rough. The sounds were annoying, and choppy. If you turn down the volume, you might be able to tolerate the gameplay a little while longer.
I imagine that this game would have done alright in the arcade, at the time. I am sure it was right at home, next to other cabinets making the same rough sounds. That is my opinion today! If I was playing this in the arcade in the 80s, I am sure that I would have loved it.
