So, I never came back to post what happened with the timing belt on the Civic.
Long story short...he was right! Lindsay and I put the new belt on, and bolted everything back together. I said my usual line of “let’s see if it blows up” and gave it a crank. She fired right up, and I was amazed! We were both amazed! I was extremely happy, and then I took it for a drive. I feel very lucky that this happened, and I am glad it did. It was a lot less work than I expected!
